Luc Caals brings André Hazes back to life for one evening in Blankenberge

On 12 August, singer, comedian and actor Luc Caals will pay tribute to André Hazes senior at the WP Theater (Het Witte Paard) in Blankenberge. In “Caals sings Hazes”, Luc Caals, together with 6 musicians and 2 backing vocalists, performs the most famous songs of the king of Dutch popular music.

Caals explains: “The beautiful songs of Hazes were already part of my repertoire early in my career, and his passing in 2004 touched me deeply. I felt it was important that his music should continue to live on after his death, which is why I created ‘Caals sings Hazes’. That tribute to André Hazes was very successful, culminating in a series of sold-out nights at the Lotto Arena. Nowadays, I only occasionally step into the shoes of my great idol. The exception is my annual birthday concert at Het Witte Paard in Blankenberge – always a highlight in my calendar.”

The full-evening show is built around the rich repertoire of the beloved singer from Amsterdam, featuring major hits such as “Een Beetje Verliefd”, “Bloed, Zweet en Tranen”, “Zeg Maar Niks Meer”, “Het Laatste Rondje” and “Zij Gelooft In Mij”. Hazes’ music makes people laugh, cry, roar, soothes and moves. It is pure zest for life, in which both housewives and tough guys can recognise themselves.
